CD players
they are friendly :)
this is just a compilation of the CD players i have used/currently have!
the LONPOO boombox!
if you're thinking of getting a new CD player in this day and age, this is my first reccomendation!
- easy carry handle! lightweight without batteries!
- great sound quality! no humming or buzzing!
- you can get 4 C cell batteries if you want to REALLY make it portable
- it dreams of being a speaker. you can CONNECT WITH BLUETOOTH and play your jams that way! it's one-way, though. it won't read your CD and send that to your bluetooth headphones :(
- aux port!
- headphone jack!
- this one throws me off. USB PLAYBACK. you can put your playlist on a USB and just . PLUG IT IN. there's a port under the buttons. and it will just Play that. so wild
- it also plays the radio very nicely! i love telescoping antennas
- and lastly, it glows blue. :)

the ONLY thing missing in this CD player is the ability to broadcast bluetooth. not sure why they didn't include that. but you can just rip your CDs, so it's ok. this CD player is TOP TIER.
next up:
the Philips MC175!
when searching this up just now, everything that came up said 'vintage', so that's cool. i dug mine out of my parent's basement. those speakers were there, too, but i couldn't get them to work (probably just old?). apparently it was sold with a remote control as well! it
ah. it's from 1998.
this CD player is older than me.
those speakers were solid cherry wood.
FLURESCENT TUBE DISPLAY??????
okay!!! wow!!!!!!,,,,, well, this thing is a Unit, that's for sure! it's got so many functions that most CD players i've met don't have even nowadays! it can read CD-rewritable discs! that explains some confusion i ran into a while back (every other CD player can't do that, making rewritably formatted CDs into just weird USBs)
okay, i'm learning so much from the guide.
- here's a better list of its prowess!
it's blowing my mind that there was a CD player so luxurious, and most of these features didn't carry on to later CD players. i have GOT to find out if i can get it to do some of those things without the remote!
anyway, it's shaped like a very tall dense loaf of brick-shaped bread, and it has vents on the back. it gets warm while running. the antenna is a plastic round square attatched to a very thin wire. i like how it's taller than it's wide, which makes it take up less space on my desk than a boombox! it has an aux output perfect for the bose speakers i stole from my mom! it sounds great! no buzzing or humming! a friendly fella for sure. my only complaint is that if the power supply flickers even a little, its clock gets lost and starts flashing. i've stopped setting it because almost every day, it gets lost. i don't think my power is bad or anything, since nothing else has this problem in my house. i don't know.
next up:
the Twinbass RCA RCD150!
from 2004 or a nearby year, this thing was the boombox of my older sibling's childhood, but not mine. i dug it out of the basement, excitedly got it a new power cord, bought two cassettes, and then discovered the cassette player was broken. that's on me for poor planning! it does play CDs fine, but when plugged in, it emitts a buzzing sound even when turned off. when you turn it on, that buzzing gets louder, and does not go away. it wants to be placed on the roof at a house party and play CDs as loud as it can, and it does not like me playing my CDs at volume 5. it does have a headphone jack! according to the manual, it lets you record the radio onto a tape! i love that!! it also can record a CD track onto your tape!? that's pretty darn cool! this boombox is like a sassy 30 year old getting called "old" by the zoomers for the first time and scoffing because they never stopped being cool.
